NOTICE:  September General Meeting date is:

Date:  Wednesday September 8
Time:  7:00
Location:  American Legion

There is a lot to accomplish before and during the season this year.

We are working on extending our trails to route 31F in Macedon.

We are continuing to work on an alternate route around Whitney Rd and hope to have one in place soon.

If we get the landowner permissions we need there will be quite a bit of trail blazing that will need to take

place as well as signing our current trail system.

We are required to GIS our trail system by March of 2011.

We helped build a groomer storage barn on Arbor Rd.

As always we will be asking for your help as the goals of the club progress.

We will be discussing these topics and more at the General Meetings and Officers Meetings.

Please feel free to join us at the meetings or contact us at any time.

Thanks for your help and sorry for the confusion in changing this General Meeting date.

Todd

The WEBSTER RIDGE RUNNERS INC. snowmobile club was founded in December 1975 and incorporated in April 1976. The 40 charter memberships included families and singles from Webster, Penfield, Rochester, Ontario and Walworth.
Over the past two and half decades the club has grown steadily to the present membership of over 700 families and singles, totaling approximately 1400 people.
The continuing primary function of the club is to promote safe and responsible sledding through the establishment of the WEBSTER RIDGE RUNNERS trail system. Approximately 40 miles of groomed and maintained trails connect eastern Monroe County to western Wayne County and includes areas of Webster, Penfield, Walworth and Ontario. The Eastern section of the system connects to NYS Corridor Trail #4. The WRR trail committee maintains cooperation and permission with over 80 PRIVATE landowners.

Bike Path through the Village 4-6-10

The meeting with the Village went well, thanks to Christopher Burns for creating an excellent presentation for the Village Board and thanks to the Village Board for hearing us.

The Village agreed to investigate the possibility of a marked trail using the Bike Path to Rte 250 in the village.  This would entail gaining landowner permissions and a place to cross Ridge Rd west of Salt and hooking back into our trails near Salt and State Rd.

We will be busy re-routing Whitney Rd this summer and fall as a priority, if a trail to the village becomes a possibility we will need help with landowner permissions and hopefully trail breaking.

A groomed and marked trail to the village with a place to park and patronize village businesses would be good for Webster and for snowmobiling.
