4/19/01 - GRASSFIRE 500 Committee Meets To Set Plans for 2001 Event - Ed @ 20:20 EST

On April 18th, the Grassfire 500 committee met to plan the upcoming October event. Items that will be changed this year include but are not limited to:
* Racing will begin at 4 PM on Saturday.
* There will again be two categories of racing classes (Amateur and ISR).
* A bonus for cumulative high points in each category will be presented.
* A bonus award to the participant traveling the longest distance will be presented.
* 440 classes will be eliminated. 440's will run in 500 Class
* Kitty Cat and Mini 120s will again run on Saturday and will be broken into heat races.
* A vintage snowmobile race will be added to Sunday’s program.
* Elimination of the $15 2-day Advanced Sale ticket.

All the individual committees will meet over the summer months and the entire Grassfire committee will reconvene on August 8th.

The members of the Webster Ridge Runners are looking forward to another successful event and cordially invite all interested parties to attend the 9th Annual Grassfire 500 on October 20 and 21.
