11/03/01 - Trail Detail Update for Nov. 4th and 11th - Ed @ 18:48 EST

Trail Detail Update for Nov. 4th

The poles are in place. We are on for the Webster Inn Bridge Sunday morning. Meet at Dicks at 8:30. We should be done at noon if there are enough of us.

Paul

Thanks to the outstanding effort of Dick Weidman, Don Wilson, Tom Nelson, Sam Chinelli, A.J. Heiligman, Chris Matison , Greg Remann, David Nappi, Joe Schirmer, Scott Goodwin, John Biuso, and Randy Phillips the big old bridge on Marchner and 250 is history. It has been replaced with a brand new one that is 10 feet wide and 28 feet long. Nobody needs to worry about falling in the creek this year, and the new groomer will make it over just fine.

Things are looking good, but we are not done yet. A Trail Work detail will be held on Sunday November 4th and 11th to replace the bridge to the Webster Inn and widen some of the trails. If you didn’t get to participate yet, now is your chance. We will start from the Weidman’s at 1111 County Line Road at 8:30 a.m. If you are planning on working please let me know by e-mail at pty@rochester.rr.com or at (716) 671-6872. Bring you own food and drinks as well as things that cut, dig, pry, and snip. Any additional ATVs will be helpful. Also, if any of you have club tools like the chain saw or snips etc. Please return them to Weidman’s. Better than that, bring them with you to the work detail.

Once again, thanks to everyone who work last Sunday? You did an excellent job and I was home in time to watch the games and the race.

Regards,

Paul Yesersky

Grassfire 500 - Great Weather - Great Time - Great Racing - Ed @ 11:55 EST

Saturday's excellent weather attracted 279 racing entries. The competition was completed at about 1130pm. By that time only the hardiest of the spectators remained.
Sunday’s weather was cloudy with only a slight shower prior to the program start but in spite of the potential for rain 188 entries signed up to race.
As the last two heats of the day were being readied lightning could be seen over Lake Ontario.
The Ridge Runners thank everyone who helped in any way.
Class winners for Saturday and Sunday are posted on the web site at:
